Back to zero - or use what you found with creativity? RESPCT.ME Gallery shows exciting approaches of European Fair Fashion labels to an aesthetic of upcycling.
Fashion thrives on change - but does throwaway have to be part of the concept? More and more fair fashion labels develop ideas how to use already existing textiles and discover by the way garbage as a source of inspiration. In the first room we show different approaches, from the fabrics Pat Guzig weaves and tufts from unraveled knits to jackets made of vintage woolen blankets and work overalls with pop art appliqués, variations of patch work till to Tata Christianes great street costumes.
In the second room we represent akjumiis 3in1 COATS. Akjumiis prize winning concept focusses on changeability. Through various add ons "upcycling"is already integrated in their design.The two Designers will be present.
