Chronicler of the moment through the eye of the camera: Michael Ruetz and his iconic photography.
His bourgeois appearance makes him inconspicuous and gets him close to world events. He is the first German photographer to capture Auschwitz. He becomes the chronicler of the young Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic. His iconic images of the 68 movement shape our perception even today. He gets closer to Beuys than any other photographer. He begins his work in series which he continues to this day: the photography legend Michael Ruetz.
