The setting: a workshop: Thomas Schütte's larger-than-life sculptures are a hands-on operation - on an impressive scale. It's all about grinding, sawing, and milling. Then the artist himself, with a cigarette in his mouth, shapes the eyes of a figure ane eventually uses computer simulation. Regardless of the machine, technique and materials used, one thing becomes clear: Art is hard work.
