Five past twelve!

In our symposium "Five past twelve!" we discuss innovative approaches from research and practice in the field of planning and building and particularly address young architects.

Limiting global warming to below 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2100 compared to the pre-industrial era, if possible, is currently the most important climate goal. However, studies indicate that the 1.5 degree mark will already be exceeded by 2030.

The construction and real estate sector contributes significantly to global CO2 emissions, energy, material and land consumption. The challenge is enormous, not least because of the time pressure, and requires holistic considerations and solutions.

How do we want to live, how do we want to shape our working worlds? How radically must planning and building change? Do we need to completely rethink processes? How is the upcoming generation dealing with the enormous challenges? What promising approaches are there in the interplay between research and practice?
