Kathrin Fändrich

Kathrin Fändrich is head of the building department at the Augsburg State Building Authority, which has around 100 employees. She is responsible for state conversions and new buildings, as well as conservation projects such as the ongoing restoration of Augsburg Cathedral and the new building of the State and City Library. Previously, she was press spokeswoman for the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior and then head of the press department at the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transport. She studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich and the Istituto d'architettura di Venezia and, after gaining experience in architectural offices, passed the Bavarian state examination for the higher civil engineering administrative service.
