Sandra Groll

Sandra Groll is a systems theorist and design scientist. She studied product design, philosophy and aesthetics at the University of Art and Design in Karlsruhe and received her doctorate from the University of Art and Design in Offenbach. In addition to questions of design history and design theory, she conducts research on the relationship between design and society with a focus on systems theory.

From 2016 to 2018 she represented the professorship 'Theory and Practice of Design' at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. Since 2017 she has been a member of the 'Board of International Research in Design' of Birkhäuser Verlag. She teaches at various universities, including University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, Free University of Bozen, Zhejian Wanli University Ningbo, HFK Bremen and FH-Bielefeld.
